A gateway to Europe
Our courses of BEST are a unique oportunity for UPC students. BEST Barcelona opens the doors to Europe letting you learn, travel and meet people overseas and improve your english level, while you are having fun. Accomodation, meals, transport and so on, all in charge of the organisers. Only think about how to arrive to the meeting point.

Academic part
In a BEST course, participants attend to classes taught by professiors or field experts; Often you will visit companies, industrial plants or research centres. All topics are related with technologies, economy, marketing and organization. At the end of the course, participants will take and exam, to evaluate their skills and the results. DON’T worry about it, all classes are mandatory and they ask things taught before, so be sure that obtain your certificate that will let you getting ECTS points.
Cultural part
That is regarding the academic part. But what else could you find in a BEST course?
What makes the difference in BEST is that local groups which organise the courses (as we do in BEST Barcelona) goes beyond the academic part. In a BEST course all day is planned. There is some free time, but most of the rest is filled with activities prepared by organisers: guided tours to the city, icebreaking games, trips, night activities… Is a typical one, the “International Evening”, on which all the participants bring traditional products from their countries to share with the rest.
BEST is a network of 93 local groups distributed around 33 european countries. Each group belongs to one university and let their students apply for the courses. In a BEST course there are between 20-30 participants, and is common to have equal number of female and male. They are all studying in the field of technology, who want enjoy a unique experience, and disconnect from the routine.
Our courses are celebrated in every of the 93 Local Best Group (at least once a year).
Most of the accomodations are on the resident area of the university, while others are in the hostel. Anyways, don’t worry about it, even though, if you arrive earlier or leave later, is highly likely that you might be hosted in some of the organiser’s house.
There are four seasons to apply for BEST courses: autumn, winter, spring and summer. Depends on the course, its duration may vary, but in general, all courses last between one and two weeks.
The best part is yet to come. Surely you have been thinking all of this will cost a fortune (Accommodation, meals, classes, transport…). Is true that is huge expensive, but, as the method of working in BEST is a way of exchange, you will only pay up to 45€. All the rest is in charge of us.
