“KungFu PO-wer: mastering renewable energies” is an international engineering course organized by BEST-UPC. It’s open to 22 students from all around Europe. This year, we are also accepting local participants from any UPC faculty. The course will last 9 days, dedicated to learning about renewable energies but also to meet other students, discover the city of Barcelona and lots of other surprises. Making a unique combination of work and fun, this course will definitely leave a mark.
The course will explore a variety of renewable energy sources, providing insights into their applications for a sustainable future. Participants will gain an understanding of how these diverse energies can be effectively utilized, contributing to environmental conservation efforts and addressing the challenges of climate change. By examining various renewable energy options, individuals can actively engage in promoting a greener and more sustainable world.
Mastering renewable energies means understanding and becoming skilled at using different sustainable energy sources to help the environment and create a more eco-friendly future.
During 9 days, you’ll meet people from very diverse backgrounds and cultures, discover Barcelona and its culture while working on a group project in a professional environment. Academically speaking, you’ll have classes, cultural visits and time to work with your team. At the end of the course, you’ll have a final evaluation. In addition, in the afternoons lessons will be over and you’ll enjoy different social activities around the city. Moreover, during the weekend trip, you’ll go to a country house with all the other participants, the organizers and some other people from all around Europe.
The full price for the whole course is 45€* and it includes all the expenses for the whole course: accommodation in the hostel, 3 meals per day (at least one being hot), transportation, weekend trip and social activities. Apart from that, you will have to pay for a deposit of 50€ if you are selected and confirm your attendance to the course. This deposit will be given back entirely to you after finishing the course.

Important: If you do not attend the course after paying the deposit or you don’t finish the course without a justified reason, you will lose the deposit.
*Check on the Survival Guide which percentage you have to pay because it depends on the country you’re coming from.
You will need to write a motivational letter (no longer than one page) and answer 3 questions. Please, if you are from UPC, write down all this information in a document and then copy it in the google form you will find in the link below. We recommend you to be original and interesting while writing the motivational letter. Remember it will be read and evaluated by students just like you. Apart from that, we recommend you to answer the 2 serious questions smartly and originally. Don’t just google it!
If you are from UPC, write down the same information as the International Students but do it in the google form (you will find in the link below).
It will be based on interest and motivation shown for the topic, detailed answers to 3 questions and overall creativity in the motivational letter. The main topic that we’ll take into consideration when choosing the participants will be this last one: creativity. Don’t be shy and write everything that’s interesting about you in the Motivational Letter!
